Introducing The Vaporesso Luxe X3

Vaporesso have added another pod kit to their popular Luxe X range with the release of the new Luxe X3. It features a large 2600mAh battery, up to 45W of power and adjustable wattage, along with the new Luxe X Dual Mesh pods.

If you're more familiar with Vaporesso's XROS kits, the Luxe X3 offers a slightly different type of vaping experience. While the XROS range is generally focused on simple, lower-powered vaping, the Luxe X3 gives you more power and control, with options for both mouth-to-lung (MTL) and restricted direct-to-lung (RDL) vaping. There is still some crossover between the two ranges though, particularly if you prefer an MTL vape.

In this blog, we'll take a closer look at the Vaporesso Luxe X3, including what's new, battery life and power, pod and coil compatibility, and which e-liquids are best suited to the kit.

What's Changed From the Luxe X2?

The Luxe X3 builds on the Luxe X2 rather than completely changing what the kit is designed to do. The biggest upgrade is the battery, which has increased from 2000mAh to 2600mAh, giving the X3 considerably more capacity without moving away from the compact design of the Luxe X range. Maximum power has also increased slightly from 40W to 45W.

Another noticeable change is the addition of a 0.8-inch digital display. The Luxe X2 used a much simpler LED battery indicator, whereas the new screen gives you more information and makes it easier to keep an eye on your settings. Charging has also been increased from 1.5A to 2A USB-C charging.

Vaporesso have also introduced new Luxe X Dual Mesh pods alongside the X3. These use a dual-layer mesh design and have moved from the bottom-filling design of the previous Luxe X pods to a more convenient top-fill system. Importantly, though, the Luxe X3 hasn't abandoned the existing Luxe ecosystem, and you can still use the old Luxe pods.

Power Without the Complication

Although the Luxe X3 gives you more control than something like an XROS kit, Vaporesso have still kept the device fairly straightforward to use. You can adjust the power between 5W and 45W, giving you more control over how warm and powerful your vape feels depending on the pod or coil you're using.

The 0.8-inch digital display makes it easy to see your settings, while the button on the device can be used to make adjustments and lock the controls when needed. There's also an airflow slider, allowing you to fine-tune the draw alongside the power.

This extra adjustment is one of the main things that separates the Luxe X3 from Vaporesso's simpler pod kits. You don't have to spend lots of time changing settings, but the option is there if you want more control over your vape. Combined with the different LUXE pod and coil options, this allows the X3 to cover everything from a tighter MTL vape through to a warmer and airier RDL setup.

2600mAh Battery & Charging

The Luxe X3 features a large 2600mAh built-in battery, giving you plenty of battery life between charges. Vaporesso states that the device can last for up to five days on a single charge, although this will vary depending on how often you vape, the pod or coil you're using and the power you're vaping at.

If you're using the Luxe X3 for a lower-powered MTL vape, you'll generally get more battery life than you would using one of the lower-resistance options at a higher wattage. Either way, the 2600mAh capacity should give you plenty to work with throughout the day without having to constantly recharge the device.

When the battery does run low, the Luxe X3 can be recharged using USB-C 2A charging. The display also lets you keep an eye on your remaining battery level, so you'll know when it's getting close to needing a charge.

Understanding the Luxe X3 Pods & Coils

The Luxe X3 is compatible with a range of Luxe X pods, giving you plenty of choice depending on how you prefer to vape. At Prime Vapes, we stock the Luxe X Corex 2.0 replacement pods in 0.3Ω, 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω resistances. These pods have the coil built in, so once the coil reaches the end of its life, you simply replace the whole pod.

Choosing a different resistance allows you to change the type of vape you get from the Luxe X3. The lower-resistance 0.3Ω and 0.4Ω pods are better suited to a more powerful DTL vape, while the 0.6Ω gives you a more restricted draw. If you prefer a tighter MTL vape, the 0.8Ω pod is the better option.

The Luxe X3 can also be used with Luxe XR empty pods and compatible GTX coils. With this setup, the coil can be replaced separately rather than changing the whole pod.

Choosing the Right E-Liquid

The type of e-liquid you use with the Luxe X3 will depend on which pod resistance you've chosen. Because the kit can be used for everything from MTL through to DTL vaping, there isn't one type of e-liquid that's going to be best suited to every setup.

If you're using the 0.8Ω pod for an MTL vape, we'd recommend a thinner 50/50 e-liquid or nicotine salt. These are well suited to lower-powered vaping and are available in a wide range of nicotine strengths.

With the lower-resistance 0.3Ω and 0.4Ω pods, you'll generally want a lower nicotine strength and an e-liquid with a higher VG content. These pods are designed to be used at higher power and produce more vapour, making them better suited to shortfills and lower-strength e-liquids.

The 0.6Ω pod sits somewhere in between, making it a good option if you prefer a more restricted vape without moving all the way towards a tighter MTL setup.

Is the Luxe X3 Right for You?

The Luxe X3 is a good option if you're looking for a refillable pod kit that gives you more control over your vape without becoming overly complicated. With adjustable power and airflow, along with a choice of different pod resistances, you can set the kit up to suit anything from a tighter MTL draw through to a more powerful DTL vape.

It's also a good step up if you've previously used a simpler pod kit and want something with a little more power and flexibility. You don't have to constantly adjust the settings, but having the option means you can experiment with different pods, power levels and vaping styles as you become more familiar with the device.

If you prefer something smaller and simpler and mainly vape MTL, you may be better suited to one of Vaporesso's XROS kits instead. There's some crossover between the two ranges, but the Luxe X3 makes more sense if you want the extra power and control it has to offer.

Our Verdict on the LUXE X3

The Luxe X3 feels like a sensible step forward for the Luxe X range. The bigger battery, updated display and extra power all make a difference, but the main appeal is how much choice the kit gives you without making it difficult to use.

We think it will suit vapers who want something more flexible than a basic pod kit, especially if you like the idea of switching between MTL, RDL and DTL vaping depending on the pod you're using. At the same time, you don't have to constantly adjust settings if you'd rather keep things simple.

If you're already using a Luxe X2, the upgrade probably makes the most sense if the larger battery, improved display or new pod options are features you'll genuinely use. For anyone buying into the Luxe range for the first time, though, the Luxe X3 is a very capable all-round pod kit with plenty of room to experiment.
