Introducing the Vaporesso XROS Pro 2

The Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 takes the more advanced side of the XROS range a step further, combining a larger 2000mAh battery with up to 30W output, adjustable airflow and a new 0.96-inch TFT display. Despite the increase in battery capacity, Vaporesso have also worked to keep the device relatively light and compact, making it an interesting upgrade from the original XROS Pro.

There are some bigger changes under the surface too. The XROS PRO 2 introduces Super Pulse Mode and uses Vaporesso's newer COREX 3.0 pod technology, while retaining compatibility with the wider XROS pod range. In this guide, we'll take a closer look at what's changed from the original XROS Pro, how the new features work and where the PRO 2 fits into the growing XROS range.

XROS Pro vs XROS Pro 2: What's Changed?

At first glance, the XROS Pro 2 follows a familiar formula, retaining the 30W maximum output, adjustable airflow and level of control that made the original XROS Pro one of the more advanced devices in the range. The bigger differences become apparent when you look at what Vaporesso have changed around that core setup.

Battery capacity has increased significantly from 1200mAh to 2000mAh, while the smaller display of the original Pro has been replaced by a larger 0.96-inch TFT screen. The Pro 2 also moves to COREX 3.0 pod technology and introduces other refinements designed to improve the experience without simply increasing the maximum wattage.

Take a look at the main differences between the XROS Pro and XROS Pro 2 below.

A 2000mAh Battery Without the Bulk

One of the biggest upgrades to the XROS Pro 2 is its 2000mAh built-in battery, a significant increase from the 1200mAh battery found in the original XROS Pro. That's particularly impressive for an XROS device, giving the Pro 2 considerably more battery capacity without moving into the size and weight you'd normally associate with larger vape kits.

How long that battery lasts will depend on the pod, power setting and how frequently you vape, but the extra capacity should mean less frequent charging for most users. When it is time to recharge, 2A USB-C fast charging helps keep downtime to a minimum.

For us, the battery upgrade is one of the most meaningful changes Vaporesso have made to the Pro 2. Rather than chasing a higher maximum wattage, they've put that extra capacity towards something XROS users can benefit from every day.

What Is Super Pulse Mode?

Super Pulse Mode is designed to keep the XROS Pro 2's power delivery more consistent as the battery level drops. Rather than the vape gradually feeling weaker as the battery runs down, the device regulates its output to maintain a steadier performance throughout the charge.

In everyday use, that should mean the vape you get towards the end of the battery feels closer to the one you get after charging. It's less about giving the XROS Pro 2 more power and more about making better use of the power it already has, particularly when combined with that larger 2000mAh battery.

More Control With the 0.96" TFT Screen

The XROS Pro 2 replaces the smaller screen of the original XROS Pro with a larger 0.96-inch TFT colour display, making it easier to check your settings and vaping information at a glance. Alongside essentials such as battery level and power, the display supports different interface themes and puff tracking, including daily and weekly vaping data.

Power and Airflow Adjustment

The XROS Pro 2 gives you more control over your vape than simpler devices in the XROS range. Adjustable airflow lets you change how open or restricted the draw feels, so you can fine-tune it to suit both the pod you're using and your preferred vaping style.

Power can also be adjusted, although exactly how this works depends on the XROS pod fitted. With compatible lower-resistance pods, the Pro 2 allows more precise wattage adjustment, while other XROS pods use preset power levels to keep things straightforward.

It's this combination of power and airflow adjustment that helps set the Pro 2 apart from devices such as the XROS Mini models. You can spend a little more time tailoring the vape to your preference, without the controls becoming as involved as those found on larger, more advanced vape kits.

Choosing a Pod for the XROS Pro 2

The XROS Pro 2 is compatible with the full range of XROS replacement pods, giving you plenty of choice over how you want the device to vape. Lower-resistance pods produce a warmer vape with more vapour, while higher-resistance options provide the tighter draw associated with traditional MTL vaping.

The 0.4Ω pod is the lowest-resistance option and makes the most of the Pro 2's higher-power capabilities, providing a warmer, airier vape with increased vapour production. Moving up to 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω gives you a more balanced experience, while the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods are better suited to a tighter, lower-powered MTL draw.

Because the Pro 2 combines pod choice with adjustable airflow and power, you've got considerably more scope to fine-tune the experience than you would with a simpler XROS device. This also means your choice of pod is worth considering alongside the type of e-liquid you plan to use.

Which E-Liquid Should You Use?

The best e-liquid for the XROS Pro 2 will depend largely on the pod resistance you're using. For the higher-resistance 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods, we'd generally recommend 50/50 e-liquids or nicotine salts, which work particularly well with lower-powered MTL setups.

If you're using the 0.4Ω or 0.6Ω pods, you have a little more flexibility. These lower-resistance options produce more vapour and can work well with lower-strength e-liquids, particularly if you prefer a warmer, airier draw.

Whichever setup you choose, it's worth matching your nicotine strength to the amount of vapour you're producing. Lower-resistance pods generally produce more vapour per puff, so a lower nicotine strength may be more comfortable than you'd typically use with a tighter MTL pod.

Who Is the XROS Pro 2 For?

The XROS Pro 2 sits towards the more advanced end of the XROS range, making it a better fit for vapers who want more battery capacity, greater control and more information from their device. That won't necessarily make it the right XROS for everyone, though.

Who Is the XROS Pro 2 For?

A Good Fit If You Want...

A larger 2000mAh battery for less frequent charging
Adjustable power and airflow to fine-tune your vape
A colour display with useful vaping information
Plenty of choice across the XROS pod range

Probably Not for You If...

You want the smallest and simplest XROS possible
You don't want to adjust power or airflow
You don't need a screen or additional vaping information
You'd rather have a basic inhale-and-vape device

Our Thoughts on the XROS Pro 2

he XROS Pro 2 feels like a worthwhile upgrade because Vaporesso haven't simply chased a higher wattage figure. The 30W maximum output remains the same, but the jump to a 2000mAh battery, larger TFT display and newer COREX 3.0 pod technology improves the areas that are likely to matter more during everyday use. We also like that the extra features haven't changed what makes the XROS range appealing in the first place — it's still a relatively compact refillable pod kit with plenty of choice across the XROS pod range.

For existing XROS users wanting to move up the range, the Pro 2 makes a lot of sense. Adjustable power and airflow give you more control when you want it, while the larger battery addresses one of the most practical reasons to upgrade. It isn't the XROS we'd choose if simplicity is your main priority, but if you want longer battery life, more control and a proper display without moving to a much larger vape kit, there's a lot here to like.
