    About Vape Coils

Vape coils are replaceable coils which fit inside a vape tank or pod, coils are available in lots of different options and materials. Most coils are unique to the specific brand and model of tank or pod so you’ll need to ensure that you select the correct coil for your vape kit.

Coils are also available in MTL (mouth-to-lung) or DTL (direct-to-lung) options, with each coil being suitable for different types of e-liquids. MTL style coils are best suited to 50/50 ratio e-liquids, such as nicotine salts or freebase and require low wattage, for this reason, they are most popular with vapers that use a high nicotine strength as they require only a very low power setting for best results.

DTL style coils are much larger which makes them capable of absorbing thicker e-liquids much easier without producing a dry hit, for this reason, DTL style vape coils are best suited to high VG liquids and are most commonly used with Sub-Ohm style vape kits. They’ll need a much higher power setting to get the best quality vape from them and are most popular with Vapers that use a low nicotine strength. This is because sub-ohm coils will produce a large amount of vapour, so it’s recommended to use a maximum of 3mg nicotine strength with these coils to avoid vaping a large amount of nicotine in a short space of time.

Coils are simple and easy to fit, some types of coils are simply a push fit and other types require you to screw them in, whichever type of coil your kit uses they are quick and easy to change. When the coil begins to taste burnt, begins to leak or the flavour becomes muted, it's time to change dispose of that coil and simply replace it with a new one.

    Vape Coils FAQs

A mesh coil is the most modern type of vape coil available, rather than the traditional Kanthal wire wound into a coil with cotton threaded through the middle, a mesh coil is a very fine mesh strip shaped into a tube shape. The cotton is formed around the mesh strip leading to a greater surface area of coil coming in contact with the vape juice at one time, which is thought to produce a much more flavourful and long-lasting vape than traditional coils.
