The year 2025 has introduced us to the newest Vaporesso Xros kits, the Xros 5 and 5 MIni. Just like any other Xros kit, the Xros 5 is the larger one with more features, and the Xros 5 Mini is the compact, simpler version. The new Xros range is still compatible with the previous Vaporesso Xros replacement pods. Vaporesso have let it known that the COREX 3.0 pods are in the works, we'll ensure that once they're released we'll have them for sale on our website.

The Xros 5 & Xros 5 Mini now features an upgraded battery, as well as many other upgraded features, all explained below.

Who Are Vaporesso?

Vaporesso are a vaping hardware manufacturer based in China. They're one of the leading manufacturers of vapes in the world, with many countries stocking Vaporesso hardware. Not only do they create some of the most popular vape pod kits in the world, they create high-quality vape mods, coils, and tanks. Vaporesso are one of the most well-known hardware brands in the world, and for good reason. The Xros Range

The Xros vape range originally released in 2020 with the Xros 1 & Xros 1 Mini. These kits featured an 800mAh and 100mAh battery respectively and utilised the original Xros replacement pods. The Xros range has gone through many changes since 2020, with huge 1500mAh batteries and Corex 2.0 & 3.0 replacement pods. The Xros range has become one of the best selling vape pod kit ranges in the world, with millions of devices sold. The great thing about the Vaporesso Xros range is the consistency throughout all of the devices. Instead of over-redesigning the Xros kit each time, Vaporesso have made slight changes that improve the user design without over complicating things. The Xros 5 and Xros 5 Mini haver similar specifications, sharing the same large battery size, airflow control, and USB-C charging ports. The Xros 5, however, features a 0.88" HD screen with customisable themes and options. The basic specs of each kit are as follows:

The Battery

Both the Xros 5 & Xros 5 Mini both feature a huge 1500mAh built-in battery that can be recharged through the USB-C port located on the side of each device. The Xros 5 Mini pod kit is equip with 2A fast charging, while the Xros 5 is equip with 3A fast charging, providing you have a plug with ultra fast charging capabilities. For the first time in the Xros range, we see a huge 1500mAh battery. This feature has definitely propelled Vaporesso's popularity, with the new Xros kits competing against the likes of the Oxva Nexlim.

Airflow Control

Like the previous Xros 4 & 4 Mini, both of the Xros 5 variants feature airflow control located on the side of the device. However, the Xros 5 and Xros 5 Mini feature a more customisable airflow slider, with the addition of an extra hole. Because of this additional hole, you can have the airflow set to feel like a disposable vape. This addition is going to help many people transition away from disposable vapes for good, especially since the disposable vape ban of this year. The upgraded airflow control is a welcome addition to the Xros range, it's unlikely to be approved upon any time soon. Altogether, there are 3 holes, with two above the slider and one beneath it.

Interface

The Xros 5 and Xros 5 Mini have very different interfaces. Apart from the device size, the interface is the biggest difference between the two.

The Xros 5

The Xros 5 features a large 0.88" HD screen that offers multiple functions. Through this screen you can access the customisable themes, control the power mode, and change the lock settings.

There are 6 customisable themes to choose from; Space, Watch, Rainbow, Black, White, and Pink. If you have the Space, Watch, or Rainbow theme chosen, you'll notice an animation plays when you vape. If you're not a fan of the animations you can simply turn them off in the settings. Each theme design shows the main information about your kit like the battery percentage, power mode, puff count, and lock status. The three main letters that show on the screen are; PWR (power mode), NOR (normal mode), and ECO (eco, power saving mode). If you're using Xros 0.4ohm replacement pods you'll be able to change the wattage in increments of 1 manually.

The powerhouse of the Xros 5's interface is the multi-functional button located on the side of the device. This button controls every customisable option, apart from the airflow. There are 5 different button operations for the Xros 5. To access each setting use:

1 Click: Lights up the screen, hold to fire.
2 Clicks: Change the theme. Choose between the 6 themes, hold the button to select.
3 Clicks: Adjust the wattage with 0.4ohm pod or switch between ECO, NOR, and PWR with any other Xros pod.
4 Clicks: Access the settings menu. Toggle animations, screen lock, and button lock,
5 Clicks: Turns the device on/off.

Unlike many other devices with a lock feature, the Xros 5 lets you lock the button and screen individually. This is a great feature, especially if you're worried about the device auto-firing in your pocket or bag.

The Xros 5 Mini

The Xros 5 Mini is a sophisticated, small kit with a simple-to-use interface. There are 4 small LED lights located on the front of the device which all indicate the battery percentage.

1 Light: 0%-25%
2 Lights: 25%-50%
3 Lights: 50%-75%
4 Lights: 75%-100%

The lights are much dimmer than the previous Xros models and don't feature bright green, red, and blue hues. This makes the Xros 5 Mini especially pleasing on the eye. With 4 increments of battery level, the Xros 5 Mini is much easier to read than any other previous models without a screen. Unlike the Xros 5, the Xros 5 Mini doesn't feature a button. This makes the Xros 5 Mini more suited to beginner vapers, or people looking for a disposable vape alternative. The user interface is easy to understand and requires no faffing with settings or power modes.

Colours

Both the Vaporesso Xros 5 & Xros 5 Mini vape kits are available in 10 colours respectively. There are bold colours to help you stand out of the crowd, or more subtle, calming colours available. Both the Xros 5 & 5 Mini feature an alloy body with a plastic front and back plate. These plates come in an array of designs, from carbon fibre to holographic.

The Xros 5 Colours

When purchasing an Xros 5, there are 10 colours to choose from. The 10 colours are:

The Xros 5 Mini Colours

As with all of the previous Xros models, Vaporesso will likely bring out more colours in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

Box Contents

Both the Xros 5 & 5 MIni comes with COREX 3.0 vape pods. However, the COREX 3.0 pods aren't currently available in the UK. They offer an upgraded taste, as well as upgraded leak protection. Conclusion

In conclusion, we think the Xros 5 and Xros 5 Mini are fantastic upgrades to the previous Xros models. Whether you're old Xros is due an upgrade, or you're ready to switch out your old kit, the Xros kits are definitely worth checking out. The big battery, stunning colours, and airflow control upgrades make these kits really stand out at the moment. Considering the new Xros 5 models are even cheaper than the previous models, it's a new brainer. We'd recommend using the Xros range with some 50VG/50PG nic salts to get the most out of the devices, especially if you love intense flavour and a satisfying nicotine hit. Although the Xros 5 range comes with an abundance of pros, one of the only cons we found was the plastic panels being prone to scratching (especially if you keep it in your pocket or bag with keys). This is a tiny flaw compared to the pros, therefore we'd definitely recommend the Xros 5 & Xros 5 Mini to any vaper.
